KEVIN AND SVETA
Kevins story. July 2006

Sveta first made
contact with me a few days before Christmas.
Her introductory letter was heartfelt. I
felt a connection to this woman. I even
made a statement to my friends that she
was my soul mate. Our few emails a week
grew to a few phone calls a week.
I visited Sveta the first week of February
2006. I first meeting confirmed my beliefs
about her. We arrived at a restaurant at
9:30 PM and proceeded to talk. I noticed
how sincere she was. During the time at
the restaurant Sveta did not look away when
she was speaking. We ate dinner and next
thing I knew it was about 2:00 AM the next
morning. I walked her home.
Later that day we met and discussed the
night before. She told me if she did not
like anything about me, she would have told
me and ended our meetings right then. Over
the next few days, she showed me around
Odessa. I enjoyed the time with her very
much. A few days before I returned to the
US, I sat Sveta down and discussed the possibility
of marriage with her. I then asked her to
marry me.
She said Yes and we proceeded
to discuss our options. She wanted to be
married in Odessa, so that is what we planned
on. Our conversations on the phone grew
to 3-4 times a day with multiple sms messages
to each others mobile phones. Sveta
met me in Kiev the second week of June and
we proceeded to gather all the documents
that were required for a marriage in Ukraine.
We returned to Odessa and a few days later
were married in a quiet ceremony. We plan
on a church wedding in the US in the fall.
